About the Role
We are looking for someone who is willing to take the reins of this promising small business and make it their own. The right applicant will be responsible for cooking and food prep, creating the menu, managing staff as well as food ordering and maintaining proper accounting. This is a great opportunity for a young or up-and-coming cook/chef to make this small and popular restaurant their own and to use their knowledge and creativity to continue to make Roxy’s a food destination on Northern Vancouver Island. Alder Bay management will be on-site to provide support as needed.
Requirements
Authorized to work in Canada
Work experience in food service (preferably 2 – 3+ years experience in restaurants and/or catering
Supervisory and/or management experience preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to foster a team atmosphere and develop and maintain positive working relationships
Ability to create a menu and weekly specials
Manage food ordering and food costing
Manage liquor & on-tap beer ordering and costing
Manage POS and accounting
Manage staff and staff schedules
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to think outside the box to problem-solve issues
Provide exceptional customer service at all times
Ability to work independently while maintaining the highest standards
Preparation of all ingredients before and during service
Prepare and cook the menu to order
Successful applicant is responsible for attaining Serving It Right certification for liquor sales

4000-6000
