About the Role
A perfect job for a morning person. As the Lead Breakfast Server at Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing, you will be an ambassador for the company. You will provide warm, personalised service and have an extensive knowledge of our food and beverage program. You will be responsible for the guest’s well-being during breakfast and at times lunch.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
Ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests during breakfast & lunch
Provide in-depth knowledge of company’s products and services
Taking, drink and coffee orders and delivering to guests in a timely manner
Use proper serving techniques
Prepare beverages using proper techniques, including specialty coffees, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages
Maintenance of the buffet breakfast, ensuring items are always well stocked
Clear tables and re-set the dining room for lunch and dinner service
Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
Check on guest satisfaction
Handle complaints and concerns of guests and bring these to the manager’s attention when necessary
Practise responsible alcohol service
Responsible for bringing daily float to each shift, completing daily server cashout
Responsible for maintaining a cheerful, courteous disposition and a neat, clean and professional image with the ability to maintain a calm demeanour in a fast paced, high intensity environment
Complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties as per requirements and training
Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
Communicate with the kitchen department to ensure efficiency and a high level of service
Maintain set Health & Safety standards
Follow the regulations set forth by the B.C. Liquor Control and Licensing Branch
Operate according to the policies, procedures and quality standards established by the company
Requirements
High School Diploma
Must have Serving it Right certificate or obtain one prior to commencing employment
Required to be of legal age (19 years) to serve alcohol in British Columbia
Experience in food & hospitality industry with knowledge of the food and beverage service process
Possess excellent knowledge of coffee drinks
Possess knowledge for highballs, cocktails, wine and beverages
Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and customer service skills
Must be a team player, and also be able to work independently.
Responsible and dependable with a poised and friendly attitude
Must have attention to detail and the ability to multitask
Must be flexible in regards to scheduling and working shifts
Fine dining experience and extensive wine knowledge is an asset
Experience with POS systems is an asset
Additional language skills are an asset
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Will be required to be on your feet for extended periods of time
May be required to lift, bend and reach
Salary/Wage
$19 per hour plus gratuities
