About the Role

The Financial Controller is a Senior Leader who works in collaboration with the CEO and management team to enhance business performance and provide oversight of all financial activities across the Resort.
You must be able to obtain, and maintain, a senior employee gaming license with the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch in British Columbia.

Requirements

  • CPA designation (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience

  • Strong and demonstrated working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises

  • Demonstrated experience with Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP)

  • High-level communication, analytical and management skills

  • Strong numerical and advanced excel skills

  • Microsoft Navision accounting software experience is an asset

  • Previous Casino and/or Hospitality experience is a significant advantage


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operations.

  • Manage in-house payroll processing.

  • Ensure compliance with, and oversee, regulatory reporting, including tax returns and remittances.

  • Manage cashflows including grant and subsidy applications.

  • Prepare and present internal and external financial statements and financial reviews.

  • Coordinate activities of the external auditors.

  • Contribute to organization-wide strategic planning.

  • Communicate complex information to a variety of audiences through the use of excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Develop and monitor business metrics to provide management with information vital to decision-making.

  • Manage the annual budget process.

  • Evaluate and enhance the business systems, processes, and controls.

  • Improve efficiencies and reduce costs across the business.

  • Manage commercial banking relationships.

  • Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting staff.

  • Demonstrated competence in understanding and ability to relate information regarding complex financial operations including but not limited to ongoing cash flow statements, capital spending, future forecasting and strategic planning.

80,000+
