About the Role
The Destination Meetings Manager (General Sales Agent) – Eastern Canada will be responsible for representing Destination Greater Victoria and developing meetings business, conferences and incentive travel to the Victoria Conference Centre, and meeting & conference hotels in the destination. The Destination Meetings Manager (General Sales Agent) – Eastern Canada will focus on generating business with a focus on the Eastern Canada market. Success is measured through the number of leads developed, RFPs secured, and increased confirmed hotel night visitation to Greater Victoria and the direct economic impact associated.
Requirements
5 or more years of sales experience in the meetings business,
conferences and incentive travel industry.
Demonstrated strong negotiating skills, with a proven track record
of success.
Experience working in complex multi-stakeholder environments,
with a solid understanding of the business objectives of the
commercial accommodation sector.
Demonstrated success and experience cultivating, engaging and
growing business networks through online platforms such as
LinkedIn to build professional relationships and increase sales reach.
Sales focused, a self-starter with a professional approach.
Proven ability to work collaboratively, contributing strengths to drive
results and achieve goals as a team.
Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking,
and time management skills to meet deadlines.
A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation,
conflict resolution, and people management skills.
Excellent communication skills, including internal, presentation and
public speaking.
Experience working in hospitality, tourism and membership-based
organizations is an asset.
Salary/Wage
$74,100 - $89,700 annually
