About the Role

Are you good with people and love working on bicycles? Do you love ripping berms in your spare time? We are looking to hire MTB Mechanics for the upcoming summer season. The MTB mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance of bicycles for customers, patrol, guides, and resort guests, ensuring repair needs are met, and service is quick and efficient. Further responsibilities include the day-to-day operation of the repair shop, daily cash handling and keeping your workspace clean and organized. Requirements

Physical Requirement:

  • Heavy, work activities involve handling loads more than 20 kg; Predominately in an indoor setting.

  • This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Accountabilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a sizeable rental bike fleet as well as customers’ bikes

  • Effectively diagnose bike issues and communicate them with customers and co-workers in a clear and concise manner

  • Maintain accurate service records for rental bikes and customer work orders

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace

  • Welcoming guests to the area and providing exceptional service through high-quality bike maintenance and repair

  • Adherence to all WCB regulations, SPRC Work safe procedures, WHMIS policies

  • Ensure all operational and safety procedures are being followed

Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum two years of experience working on mountain bikes. Including but not limited to servicing suspension, hydraulic brakes, drivetrains, headsets, bottom brackets and wheel building

  • Detailed understanding of mountain bike set-up, parts, tools, service techniques and part compatibility

  • Outstanding organizational, verbal, and written communications skills

  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills

  • Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment

  • A passion for mountain biking and the cycling community

  • Reasonable understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Experience with computerized POS systems


Salary/Wage

18.75 - $24.00
