About the Role
Do you LOVE all things mountain bike? Can you chat with just about anyone? We seek a dedicated individual with excellent organizational and communication skills to join our team as Mountain Bike Coordinator this summer. The ideal candidate will organize lessons for the week and local’s programs and ensure appropriate instructors are assigned to each. They will also be responsible for scheduling Hike and Yoga guides. This position allows an outstanding balance of office and outdoor work with the ability to go out and check the mountain, whether on a bike or just out for a hike and, where possible, jump in on lessons or hike tours where needed. On your days off, you have two lift-accessed bike parks, rounds of golf, hiking and lake days to look forward to. Requirements
Physical Requirement:
Light, work activities involve handling loads of 5 kg but less than 10 kg; Predominately in an indoor setting.
This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.
Accountabilities:
Effective planning, administration, and organization of the Mountain Bike Program, including all aspects of lesson program, registration/confirmations, cash handling, reports, guest experience, refunds, and timely closures
Staff scheduling, training, development, and motivation
Coordinate and assist in facilitating operational needs for schools, universities, and Race Centre
Regular communication with the Sports School Director and Sports School Supervisors
Maintain quality standards of the Sports School, Sun Peaks Resort LLP, and operate within the approved budget
Assist the Sports School Director with general Sports School administration as required.
Direct product marketing to guests, including promotion/upselling and problem-solving/optimizing sales opportunities /guest recovery tactics
Operate according to the Code of Conduct and Values Statement of Sun Peaks Resort LLP and the Sports School
Ideal Candidate:
3– 5 year’s experience in a similar position
Professional and current teaching certification with a nationally recognized organization (PMBIA or equivalent)
Extended sales training and experience is an asset
Previous experience with Mountain Bike products
Outstanding computer skills (e.g., RTP P.O.S. systems, Microsoft computer systems, electronic business systems)
Precise and accurate cash-handling skills
Excellent communication skills and proficient use of spoken English
Polished interpersonal and motivational skills and highly organized
Proven track record in tourism, guest services, and as a team player
Legally able to work in Canada
