About the Role

The position of Pastry Chef holds a prestigious role as the purveyor of culinary delights. The dough begins its rise before dawn, just as the Pastry Chef does. This skilled and imaginative member of our culinary team possesses remarkable baking and dessert-making abilities, coupled with boundless energy. They’re adept at crafting the perfect muffin and orchestrating the presentation of 50 captivating desserts by day’s end. The title of Pastry Chef is not just a testament to sweetness, but also to strength.
The Pastry Chef plays a crucial role in collaborating with the Head Chef/Chef to deliver an exceptional culinary experience for all guests at Baldface. This role demands innovation, consistent production of high-quality food, and a full-time commitment with a flexible approach. The ideal candidate thrives as a dedicated team player in an environment where responsibilities may vary.

Requirements

  • Prepare an array of bread and pastry items daily for all meals, encompassing breakfast baked goods, lunch bread, cookies, bars, and the featured dinner dessert.

  • Contribute to après-ski appetizers by crafting baked goods as needed. Collaborate with the Garde Mange Chef on après-ski appetizer preparation whenever assistance is required.

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to select the highlighted dessert. Develop alternative options for guests with specific dietary requirements.

  • Support the Sous Chef in the planning and execution of daily staff meals.

  • Provide assistance to fellow kitchen staff when necessary, including aiding the Garde Mange in assembling morning Cat lunches.

  • Maintain accurate ingredient inventory records. Generate the food order for your designated area of responsibility and communicate the list of required items to the Head Chef.

  • Assist with kitchen deliveries and ensure proper storage of food items.

  • Uphold a high standard of organization and cleanliness throughout the kitchen environment.
