About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and engaging Banquet/Catering Manager! The ideal candidates will have at least 1+ years of Banquet experience in a hotel or similar setting. Open availability required to accommodate business needs. Join a growing team where you can make a difference.

The Banquet/Catering Manager manages staff and day-to-day banquet service operations including organizing banquet events, quality guest service, beverage control procedures and liquor law compliance. The Banquet Manager manages responsibilities in alignment with senior management, Company policies and procedures, brand standards and local, provincial regulations. Responsible for quality service, meeting/exceeding financial and service goals, and managing within approved plans and objectives. Contributes to and recommends budget, capital expenditures, inventory controls, sales and business plans, and short/long term planning. Reports, investigates, and resolves issues, policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Inspect meeting rooms daily to ensure proper set-up.

  • Greet all meeting and banquet contact people daily and assist with all changes or needs.

  • Stay in contact with meetings and banquets, contact people to verify all mealtimes, break times, and guaranteed counts.

  • Meet with the function group leader to determine last minute changes and discuss various setup arrangements.

  • Ensure proper cleaning of all equipment after the function is completed.

  • Supervise assigned banquet personnel throughout functions.

  • Assist staff with room setups, food service, and clean up when necessary.

  • Conduct administrative duties including interviewing and hiring of staff, scheduling, daily recaps, completion of all banquet checks, collection of payments or authorized signature on all banquet checks, performance reviews, labor control, supply requisitions, etc.

  • Maintain standards of food, beverage, and quality guest service.

  • Attend required meetings.

  • Maintain proactive relationships with all departments.

  • Achieve budgeted revenues and expenses and maximize profitability related to the banquet department.

  • Contribute to the profitability and guest satisfaction perception of all hotel departments.

  • Develop short- and long-term financial and operational plans for the banquet department that relate to the overall objectives of the hotel.

  • Increase the level of guest satisfaction by delivery of an exceptional product through employee development.

  • Maintain and correct procedures for inventory control.
