About the Role
The Assistant Security Manager will work alongside the Security Manager and security team to ensure the safety and security of the Resort and establishments within.
Requirements
Assist the Security Manager with managerial tasks including but not limited to calculating, signing and submitting security time sheets, viewing and securing surveillance footage requests by RCMP or hotel management, and recording and submitting Security Summary Reports and Incident Reports.
Prompt communication with Security Manager and Hotel Manager for any information needed or issues that arise, ensuring both parties re updated on any incidents.
Enforcing liquor laws as per our the liquor license requirements in all our establishments and on our property.
Managing the security team and Barking Parrot requirements when the Security Manager is not on-shift.
Flexibility with shifts to ensure coverage on busy nights including picking up extra shifts on long weekends or on concert and event nights (in-house or city wide).
Availability to cover Security Manager’s days off or sick days.
Assisting the Security Manager in running the Barking Parrot on busy nights (nightclub dynamic) including security placement.
Ensure the Barking Parrot patio is closed by 12:00am in consideration of hotel guests
Follow-up with any emergency medical services or RCMP involvement (even if not directly involved) to add to Security Summary Report or Incident Report.
Interval property and parkade patrols, and hotel floor checks.
Responding and resolving and noise complaints in and on our property, including guest rooms.
Attending to any transients or unwanted person, as well as intoxicated persons in and on our property.
Assisting all departments with security issues or concerns as requested.
Qualifications
Security Worker Licence (required)
Experience in security management or related field is an asset.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
High level or integrity, professionalism, and discretion with confidential information.
Attentive to your surrounding and situations, and being proactive in addressing and calming situations before they become issues.
Ability to be firm but polite to mitigate issues or concerns.
Approachable personality in order for guests, patrons or employees to feel safe and can come to you with concerns.
Ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels of the hotel.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
