About the Role

The Assistant Manager, Catering works closely with the Manager, Catering, operations, and culinary teams to ensure quality selections are offered to catered guests. This position is responsible for ensuring that exceptional premium level hospitality is provided, alcoholic beverages are served safely, and food quality and safety and operational standards are always maintained.

A typical day includes:

Delivering superior customer service, creating memorable dining and best in class guest experiences through effective hiring, managing, and training of part-time supervisors and staff
Actively engaging with guests to ensure premium level of service and guest satisfaction
Maximizing sales potential through guest satisfaction, creating guest leads for future functions
Overseeing execution of catering events, including managing the timelines of the event and supervision of the staff, and managing the budget for the event
Meeting with new clients, providing tours of facilities, and reviewing event details
Preparing contracts to include all specified details concerning catered events
Greeting guests at functions, handling client/customer concerns, following up with guests after events
Ensuring high food quality in presentation and production for all catering offerings

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as hospitality management

  • 2-4 years of experience supervising a premium food and beverage operation

  • An inspiring leader who has proven skills rallying a team to achieve its highest potential and then taking it to the next level

  • A solutions provider committed to a vision of service that will thrill fans and provide an ultimate fan experience

  • Superior communication and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, clientele, suppliers, and partners

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle conflicting deadlines and prioritize

  • As we are an event-based business, it is essential to have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • This is an onsite role at Rogers Arena in downtown Vancouver
